HELP! Why won't my baby sleep?
Up until about a week ago, he was sleeping great. He was taking good naps, he was sleeping most of the night, only waking up twice to eat, and then going right back to sleep, and I'm okay with that for now, he's not quite four months old yet. But starting about a week ago he started taking really short naps. He would only sleep for a half hour instead of the two hours he used to. He just wakes up and he is obviously tired, and then won't go back to sleep. Well today he hasn't slept for more than 15 minutes at a time, and I was only able to manage to get him to do that about three times. So since about 7 this morning until finally around 8:30 this evening, he has had less than an hour total of sleep, when he is used to having 4-6 hours of sleep. It took me about two hours to get him to go to sleep this evening. We usually have a good routine and he goes right to sleep, but nothing is working. I understand why it took so long to get him to sleep tonight. He was way overtired so he just could not sleep. But how could he not be tired if he hasn't taken naps all day. He's been exhausted since his first nap was cut short. I did everything I could to get him to go back to sleep. He already sleeps swaddled, he will never sleep at all without being swaddled. The house is quiet, he has a humidifier, I've tried bathing him, my mom suggested lavender might help him to relax enough to go to sleep, I tried going for a car ride, but he hates the car and it just got him worked up even more...I've tried just letting him cry it out, but that was a huge disaster ... So I guess my question isn't really how to get an overtired baby to sleep, but how to prevent this problem from happening. His first nap I got him before he was overtired. We went through our nap time routine like we always do, and he went right to sleep. But after 15 minutes he wakes up screaming and won't go back to sleep again. All day he's been cycling through being extremely irritable, screaming inconsolably exhausted and near sleep, and then randomly being happy for about 20 minutes. He doesn't seem to be in any pain at all. He is breastfed, and has never had any problem with colic. He's been sleeping for about half an hour now which is the most he's slept at one time all day. I can't deal with another day like this. ... ugh, he's waking up even now as I'm writing this... What's wrong?!?!?! Alright I just gave him some tylenol and nursed him back to sleep. He wasn't really hungry and I usually avoid nursing him to sleep, but at this point I would do anything to get him to go to sleep. I don't have any idea what the tylonol would be for, he doesn't have a fever or anything, but I figured I should cover all my bases just in case. I really don't know what to do. ... well, that didn't last long, he's awake again. HELP!

Lactose Overload 2mo old--exclusively pumping breastmilk?
I have a 2 month old who screams in pain when she poops or farts which is a lot. I thought maybe it was colic, or lactose intolerance but she is gaining weight. I finally found information on lactose overload, and it sounds like it's the case. My problem is that I am exclusively pumping breastmilk every few hours and I give it to her in a gas-reducing bottle. She never latched on correctly (neither did last baby) because I have flat nipples. Anyway, I was wondering if these is any advise for alleviating her gas pains since I am pumping not nursing? Mylicon drops won't help if the gas isn't in her stomach---and it's probably in her intestines. Any help?

Does anyone have any success with the Nap Nanny?
My son is currently sleeping in his car seat due to colic and we would like to transition him into a crib.

What is the best way to transition a baby into a bassinet?
Our 6 week old son has been sleeping in his car seat because he had a horrible bout of colic and this was the only place that made his comfortable. We are having a hard time getting him to sleep anywhere else. We think it might be because he likes the incline position instead of being flat. Any suggestions for a husband and wife who feel like idiots having our kid sleep in his car seat when we are not even in a vehicle?

baby update and hope!!!?
Hi all, just wanted to give you all a little bit of hope really. I was on this page 11 months ago after being told i couldn't have children for 2 years because of blocked and scared tubes. well after 1 month of no protection i fell pregnant!! (I didn't try as such like ovulation charts, temp's or anything like that, we both just had the attitude it will happen when it happens and if its meant to be) I had a great pregnancy really and loved every minute of it but then at 31 weeks went into labour. They gave me pills to try and stop it and steroid injections for my babies lungs and 93 long hours later baby Imogen arrived 8 weeks early weighing 2lb 13 oz. She spent a month in hospital but was ok just very small (we was very lucky she didnt need any help with her breathing and she was not ill) She is now 14 weeks old and is hard work!!! she is still only 8lb but she is the best little bundle of joy ever, even when she is very grumpy with colic and reflux! I just wanted you all to know that getting pregnant, being pregnant and having a baby is so worth all that you are all going through at the moment. I really recommend everybody just letting it happen for a month or so and not getting worked up on trying so hard, you will be amazed how easy it is when you are not trying too hard - my brothers wife has just fallen pregnant naturally after giving up on her IVF and hormone injections. Baby Dust to all and good luck x
