My husband doesn't care that I'm pregnant? I'm currently 7 months pregnant with a little baby boy that I can't wait to meet. Unfortunately, my husband of six years doesn't seem to share my enthusiasm. He barely even seems to notice that I'm pregnant at all... When I first found out the good news, I couldn't wait to tell him! I sat around all day trying to envision the moment and his reaction. I pictured laughing, crying, rejoicing, etc. However, when he got home from work and I informed him that he was going to be a father, his only reaction was an unimpressed “Oh… you know we can’t afford to have you quit your job right?” Needless to say, I was crushed. Unfortunately, he has remained equally indifferent throughout the rest of my pregnancy. When I try to discuss baby names, he just responds “I don’t care, as long as it doesn’t sound stupid.” He still hasn’t even felt the baby kick. He refuses to go shopping for baby clothes, cribs, toys... anything! We were scheduled to go to a parenting class together and he wouldn’t even get out of bed. It’s putting a major strain on our relationship and don’t think I can be with him if he’s going to be like this after the baby is born. Doesn’t he love our baby? Does he even plan on showing up at the hospital when the baby is born? I’ve tried confronting him with the issue but he continues to avoid dealing with it. How should I handle the situation? CALLING ALL CRAFTY MOMMYS!!!!!!!? My daughter is getting to the age where I'm moving out her crib and getting her a toddler bed. What are some ideas to use for her bumper pad? It is beautiful and I dont want to throw it away. She already has a ton of pillows I want some different ideas thanks!!! is it alright to let a 11 month old baby bottle feed herself to sleep, in her crib, with formula milk? the reason l ask is concern for her oral hygiene. She has sprouted two bottom front baby teeth and 2 upper ones are sprouting now. The milk formula does contain sugar l think. l will start to clean her teeth with a clean gauze soon (any video sites showing you how to use it to clean baby's teeth would be great) she almost always falls asleep drinking the formula milk herself. Lastly, when should a baby toothbrush be introduced and l assume no toothpaste is used? thanks in advance CALLING ALL CRAFTY PEOPLE!!!!!!? (: Getting rid of the pacifier - I need tips, tricks and advice please!!!? My daughter uses her pacifier during nap time and bedtime only. It stays in her crib and she only uses it then. DH and I would like to start thinking about getting rid of it soon and teaching her it's only for babies.... we're expecting again in January and I just don't want both of them to be with pacifiers in their mouth. So, does anyone have any advice for me on how to get rid of them? She's 15 months old and we were hoping to officially have her weaned by her 18 month birthday. She also sleeps with her special blankie and two stuffed animals so she has other things to focus on, but she does freak out if she doesn't have her pacifier at bedtime/naptime. Name of the book about a girl raised by adoptive parents who travels with an old man and a dog...? ...and finds her real family I'm looking for a book that was about a little girl who was raised by parents that found her in a crib when she was a baby. She ends up traveling with an old man and his dog (and a monkey?) and meets this nice rich family which turns out to be hers. She was kidnapped as a baby and her parents had been looking for her. As far as I remember the book is by a famous writer. Moving 4 month old into their own room..? Our little girl has slept in our room for 4 months now - we have a decent routine going and she usually only wakes once for a feed during the night.. we also have a really good breathing monitor for her crib.. I know the advice is to have baby in the same room until 6 months because of SIDS - as we have the monitor and considering our house is so tiny she would only be a few feet from us even in her own room is there any other reason we should wait another couple of months? what do you think of this? Chapter one – a flicker of fire Mrs. Sullivan sat quietly on her bed. Her soft pale blond hair was swept back into a loose ponytail. It was late and she was dying to go to bed. But she couldn’t, she was waiting patiently for her husband. It was nearing midnight; she was losing her nerve now. Where is he? She thought desperately to herself. She turned and there stood at the back of the room, a crib, it stood oddly, gloomily, and dark, as though something had died. She got up from the bed and yawned, she was awfully tired. When she leaned over the crib, she was expecting a child to be wriggling his arms and legs in her face, but the crib lay empty and unoccupied. She sat in a handsome room, golden wallpapers covered the walls, her bed which she shared with her husband, was a violent shade of crimson. It was an oak base. A rock chair as well as the crib sat empty and seemed to be growing dust. The window was drawn open wait for a breeze that played around with the bed covers. She paced around the room, biting her fingers. “Honey, breathed a voice. She jumped and nearly fell; a strong arm caught her, confidently. She looked at the face and she grinned. He was a tall man, but it was very hard to see his face, as he was a hidden under a hooded cloak. “You took your time, she hissed as she placed herself back on the bed. From underneath his cloak she saw the man smile. Sorry, he said quietly, walking towards the crib, for the first time she finally realised he was holding a figure in his arms. Even cradling it lovingly. She jumped to her feet, flittering back to the man's side. Now when she looked at the crib, a baby with a small tuff of black hair was wriggling and crying softly. Mrs Sullivan's face softened and picked up the child and held him, so the child led against her chest. “He’s adorable,” she cooed. The man took off his hood. The first thing that would take her by surprise was his eyes. A man with such a serious face was not be expected to have such dazzling bright blue eyes. The contrast was so great when it came to his dark curls of black hair. When he came to sit next to Mrs. Sullivan on the bed, he first looked at her soften expression to the squirming smiling baby. It wasn't very hard you know? he said in and off hand tone. She looked at him. “Really? she said idly. “I thought he'd be more heavily guarded you know, but I don't even think now they know he is gone, “That’s quiet sad, Adam, I feel sorry for them, she said quietly, tickling the baby tummy, he squirmed worse than ever and giggled more. “Don’t be, he'll be safer with us, he said simply. Silence fell between them before she asked. “Are we keeping him? I really don’t think that we should kill him, I know they say he’s dangerous , but he doesn't look like it, if he grows up and we see what we truly fear , then we should consider... she said trailing off, as the baby started playing with her hair. I think you mean you couldn't bear too, I think his grown on you, he grinned. She looked at her husband and her violet eyes shone brightly in her drawn face. “Can you really blame me, he is loveable, you and I both now I can't have children... then she leaned her head against his shoulder. “Death would be cruel,” she muttered into his shoulder. “Especially to a child, he continued. The baby, who had finished playing around with the stranger’s hair, looked at Mr. Sullivan, with his piercing turquoise eyes. “Those eyes definitely aren't going to pass as my eyes if were keeping him, he said being caught by surprised by the baby eyes. Does anyone know for a fact if it was? i only see the DA715BC but im not sure about the -N model? please help! rocking baby to sleep? We are having an issue with our 1 year old waking during the night. Our pediatrician says that it is because he is having separation anxiety due to the fact that we rock him to sleep at night. There are many nights however, that he sleeps through with no difficulty. The main reason that we got into the habit of rocking instead of just putting him to bed is because he has had acid reflux since birth, and were instructed to hold him in an upright position for 30 minutes after eating. (He has choked on spit-up several times and stopped breathing) This resulted in a habit of holding him after his last bottle at night till he fell asleep, then we put him in his crib. Any ideas on how to get him to go to sleep on his own? He takes naps on his own through the day. I really don't think I can stand the idea of letting him cry himself to sleep at night though. traveling with my daughter who will be 17 months at the time and..? she will not sleep in anything but her OWN crib, not even for naps. We have a pack n play and are taking it with us, but I want to make it more comfortable for her to sleep in. what can we do to make the trip pleasant for her (sleep wise) Do you have a mattress for pack n play (not the one it comes with) and does it seem to make it more comfortable? also, we will be out of town for 2 weeks, and this is not her first trip. we are flying. I plan on taking one of her sheets from her crib and she has a balnket that she is attached to, so of course that will be comming with us. should I let my baby cry? My baby has always slept well at night, and she goes to sleep practically as soon as she is laid in her crib. She is now 6 months old and has started crying when we lay her down at night. She was just fed, diaper changed, etc. Should I let her cry? How do I get my 19 month old to sleep in his crib? Every night my son wakes up and cries until I come and bring him to sleep with me. Would this work as a co-sleeper? My husband and I recently bought a convertible crib for my son that is due in September. We had decided earlier that we were going to have a co-sleeper at least for a little while after he was born. If we took the took the side off and made it into a day bed, then pushed it against our bed, would we not need to buy a co-sleep or would there be problems with this? For example, would this be a safety issue for any reason or would the crib still feel too open to the baby? We are a family on a budget, so were trying to cut as many corners as we can.
