Feeding

How do you feed meat to a young child who has decided they won't eat it?
Anslee won't eat meat or fish. Sitting with her and telling her she has to eat it doesn't work. With every meal I put meat or fish on her plate but she always leaves it. She'll eat the vegetables and potatoes, etc fine but not the meat or fish. Neither my husband or I are vegetarian nor is anyone in our families. I don't understand why she doesn't want to eat meat. I try and give her protein in other forms like spinach but I worry she isn't getting enough protein and iron. She's only three years old and I don't want her to grow up and have problems because she hasn't eaten properly.

What kind of bird do you have?
And what do you feed it? Whats there personality like? I just got a untamed Meyer Parrot...Im afraid she may be sick, because of her beak and one of her nose holes looking pulled, and the corner of her eye is sore on the edge watery and a tiny bit of blood. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm196/AngelaRae2007/Peepers/birdie2.jpg

Outside cat has stinky slobber constantly around his mouth. What could this be and how can it be fixed?
This outside cat that I feed has had this disgusting clear slobber that drips from his mouth for about 2 weeks now. He's not aggressive, but does deal with some wildlife, being an outside cat. I live in an urban city though, so it's not a crazy amount of animals he deals with. My hand touched it once and it smelled horrible, can't even describe it..like something died. Why is this happening to him? If I had the money to take him to a vet, I would. Is there anything I can do to fix it or make it better? He also does this chattering thing with his mouth, which I've heard of as being something they do when they're excited or hurt. I'm sure this has something to do with it.

is this acid reflux in my 3 1/2 months old?
for the past week he has been spitting up alot when i burp him. it comes pouring out. i feed him 5 oz. and burp him after every 2 oz. is this acid reflux? if not then why is he doing it all of a sudden? is it just alot of milk sloshing around in his stomach? sometimes he cries but not all the time, he starts to suck on his fist so it makes me think that hes still hungry. he only drinks alittle bit at a time and i know hes still hungry bc he didnt eat a lot, when im holding him and lay him down to be changed he will start to cry, he coughs sometimes, when he does eat he will wiggle and sometimes stiffen up

Red devil cichlid interested in eating but won't eat?
My red devil begs for food all day. I feed him. He chews on the food a bit and then starts dancing again after spitting it out. He used to eat a lot now he won't eat. He's been eating this brand for 2 or 3 years. What should I do or what is the problem?

Why my 2 year old dont eat at daycare?
My daughter is almost 2 and she would not eat at daycare at all...just 2 cookies for the 8 hours she's there. Its been over a year now. It started when she was 1 at daycare and give the caregivers a hard time to feed her. Now she dont want to eat there, but she eats well at home...i know that the caregivers are trying their best with her. All the other kids are doing fine. Anyone with kids like that? or any advise as to why she may not want to eat there? I used to take her lunch, because she wouldnt eat theirs and now i stopped taking it. she would prefer to starve all day than have it. they tried everything and nothing works...to be honest i dont think its about the cookies, sometimes she have cracker, which is not sweet and water. She only eats rice with meat and hidden veggies. No soup, mashed patotoes, bread, i dont know what to do?

is it alright to let a 11 month old baby bottle feed herself to sleep, in her crib, with formula milk?
the reason l ask is concern for her oral hygiene. She has sprouted two bottom front baby teeth and 2 upper ones are sprouting now. The milk formula does contain sugar l think. l will start to clean her teeth with a clean gauze soon (any video sites showing you how to use it to clean baby's teeth would be great) she almost always falls asleep drinking the formula milk herself. Lastly, when should a baby toothbrush be introduced and l assume no toothpaste is used? thanks in advance

Rescue Dog won't go downstairs in the morning without me even though I leave the bedroom door open?
I have a 15 month German shepherd bitch. I got her at 10 months old. She had been badly treated for 9 months of her life by a family of 4. They beat her and starved her. I got her at almost 11 months old after going into kennels at 10 months. She was a very timid, nervy dog, cowered and wet at sudden movements, noises, terrified of males. I live with my parents and brother. It took my dog months to trust my dad and my brother. Occassionaly she still cowers and wets when they call her to them. I suspect as it takes people time to overcome memories of bad treatment it will take time for the dog too. My dad and brother play with her, give her lots of fuss. My mum takes turns at feeding her. Despite the progress made, my dog will not go downstairs in the morning without me, so other family members can let her out to the toilet. Should I start putting my dog downstairs to sleep rather than allowing her to sleep in my bedroom? Would this help her to feel safe on her own without me? I have made a lot progress with my dog since I got her, she had never been outside, was terrified of everything, I helped her to overcome this, if she sees males outside she cowers if they are in a group so I stand still near them to help her realise no harm will come to her. After a while she relaxes. I am the first person this dog bonded with and trusts 100%. I want her to feel safe without me. Any ideas, suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Should celebrities be paid less?
My husband and I were debating this and we got on the subject of how the military sacrifices their lives daily and are given sub-par health service..etc. The real heroes of society are paid next to nothing. And my husband feels that celebrities shouldn't get what they get.....and I thought about it for a bit.....yes, I know his view is an ideal view but I think of it differently, How many people have the ability to perform like Beyonce, sing like Mariah or Jazmine Sullivan shoot a ball like Lebron James, etc? A gift doesn't come from going to college, or extremely long practice sessions...or even signing an obscure government contract. Yes, you can develop inherent gifts, but the number of ppl with those special talents are not equivalent to the number of ordinary people. I feel that a person with an extraordinary talent will be celebrated by society more bc of how unique they are. Now, many celebrities hoard their blessings instead of doing what is right and spreading it around. For every spy bag one of them buys, they could feed 100's of children in their own back yard. But charity has to be in your heart. If you are an ordinary person, you won't be paid like a rock star...bc for every 1 of you, there are 100 more graduating college this year.....or signing that contract.....ordinary people are easily replaceable because they are so common. I think that is why celebrities exist as they do......more people enjoy their talent.......that still doesn't make being a teacher, or a nurse, or another otherwise ordinary person an insignificant task bc even celebrities need doctors. What's your view?

I'm not sure how old they are but we only got them two days ago and both of his fish sink to the bottom alot :\. Whereas mine are fine and lively. They eat good we feed them once a day does anyone no what could be wrong with them?

how do i tolerate my step dad?
He has anger issues. I disagree with everything he believes and does. He never feeds my sister I because he hates us. She's vegan. I'm vegetarian. His idea of disciplining my dog is punching, smacking, kicking, and holding him by the throat and it's traumatizing. When he thinks he's in trouble or whenever you approach him, his eyes get real big and one of his hind leg rapidly shakes. I've yelled at him to stop but he just told me to be quiet. My mom knows but she doesn't care. Now, my dog's bed's in my room and he's always in there. He's grabbed my arm to squeeze it and has shoved me into things. Just recently, he threw at pot at me to piss me off when i was using it to cook Ramen because I said, whatever. He yells at me for being up late but I have insomnia and I can't sleep. I just can't. He also beats his own son. He took him into his room and started whipping him with a belt. You could hear him cry. Another time, my step brother accidentally broke a cabinet door. For some reason my step dad got pissed and pulled him into my step brother's room and started punching him. He yelled for help. When my sister threatened to call the police, he stopped. He's picked my mom up and shoved her into their room to convince her to do something. He's also a pervert but I won't go into detail. I've asked my mom to divorce him after I told her all of the times he's hurt me and was being perverted. She didn't care. She only cared about if he cheats on her. I said,Mom, he even beat his own son. She said, I can't do anything about. That's his son, not mine. My mom is nice to me but I still hate her. I want them to divorce! Either I kill my step dad or I live with my biological dad.

If a deed is done from the mercy of your own heart, rather than to please Allah is it still rewarded?
Such as a non muslim feeding a beggar without the intention to please Allah. Salaam

so, uhhh.....Bellshaviks?
City of Bell officials were overpaid. But the reaction from much of the State makes them look like some sort of elite--keep in mind the $$ elite would look at $5,000,000 as bird feed, while upwards of $500,000 is debatably too much. Are these folks overreacting?
