Tummy Time Mat and Infant Gym? Good morning! I am due in May and already have an infant gym for my baby, and am wondering if I also need a tummy time mat too. I dont know if it would just come in handy to have, or if the infant gym would serve the same purpose. Any opinions/experience? Thanks!!! Rush Limbaugh wants to leave the country if health reform is passed!? Question Apparently on his radio show, Rush stated that he would leave the country if health reform is passed and go to Costa Rica. ------------------------------------ CALLER: If the health care bill passes, where would you go for health care yourself? And the second part of that is, what would happen to the doctors, do they have to participate in the federal program, or could they opt out of it? [...] LIMBAUGH: My guess in even in Canada and even in the UK, doctors have opted out. And once they’ve opted, they can’t see anybody Medicare, Medicaid, or what will become the exchanges. They have to have a clientele of private patients that will pay them a retainer and it’ll be a very small practice. I don’t know if that’s been outlawed in the Senate bill. I don’t know. I’ll just tell you this, if this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica. ------------------------------------------------------- See this link for a playback of the call. http://thinkprogress.org/2010/03/09/limbaugh-exile-health-care/ Unfortunately it looks like Costa Rica already has a similar system to the reform package that's being discussed: Costa Rica’s hybrid government-private health care system provides comprehensive universal coverage to all residents — and even sells affordable policies to soon-to-be visitors like Limbaugh. The government owns several major public hospitals and operates small clinics in almost every community. Workers are required to contribute 15% of their salaries to health insurance and the unemployed “obtain public funding for all health services, including prescription drugs.” At least a third of all Costa Rican residents receive some care in the private sector and the government regularly purchases services from private providers. The system is not without its problems, but it boasts a higher ranking from the World Health Organization — Costa Rica is 36, United States 37 — and has higher life expectancy and lower infant mortality rates. Costa Rica also spends less per capita on health care than the United States and insures almost all of its residents. So my question to you is, where in the developed world could Rush flee to if he was indeed serious? Excellent job Shovel Ready. You have stated the obvious. Now let me clarify... WHERE in the developed world is he going to go to find health care that isnt ruined by a socialist approach? His chosen destination of Costa Rica already has the same approach he'd be fleeing from. Thank you Emporer has no clothes for reminding me that somehow creating insurance exchanges that allow people to purchase from private companies across state lines is a government takeover of health care... somehow. Could you direct me to a link that shows which bill you're talking about? The current legislation's main provision is the creation of insurance exchanges to allow freer competition between insurance agencies. why would infant have diarrhea and no fever? Well, she's now too tall for her infant seat but she doesn't weigh 20 pounds yet(16 pounds, doctor says she's fine, she's just skinny tall,33 inches). Then my friend(who also has a baby) told me that it's recommended that babies stay rear facing until age 2 so she's in the same boat as me but her son's closer to 2 and at the max limit for his rear facing seat. I don't like the way she rides now,I'm not comfortable with it. When I asked my Mom about what I should do she said just to switch her over to the forward facing seat since she'll eventually grow into it. She also pointed out that she did that with my brother me and we're fine. She is my Mom but I don't really want to take that chance since I've been hit before(in the side by somebody who didn't want to wait for the light to change on their side). So I'm kinda stuck. What do you think would be the better thing to do? Oh,and she can sit up perfectly on her own. She's over the height limit for her current seat.
