Omeprazole decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Omeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. It is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid). Omeprazole may also be given together with antibiotics to treat gastric ulcer caused by infection with helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). Omeprazole may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide. Important information omeprazole Before using omeprazole, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have heart disease or liver disease. You may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take this medication. Omeprazole is not for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms. Some conditions are treated with a combination of omeprazole and antibiotics. To best treat your condition, use all of your medications as directed by your doctor. Be sure to read the medication guide or patient instructions provided with each of your medications. Do not change your doses or medication schedule without advice from your doctor. Take omeprazole for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better before the condition is completely treated. Prilosec OTC (over-the-counter) should be taken only once every 24 hours for 14 days. It may take up to 4 days for full effect. Do not take more than one tablet every 24 hours. Allow at least 4 months to pass before you start another 14-day treatment with Prilosec OTC. Call your doctor if you have additional symptoms and need treatment before the 4 months has passed. Heartburn is often confused with the first symptoms of a heart attack. Seek emergency medical attention if you have chest pain or heavy feeling, dizziness, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, sweating, nausea or vomiting, and a general ill feeling. Before taking omeprazole Do not use this medication if you are allergic to omeprazole. Ask a doctor or pharmacist about using this medicine if you have heart disease or liver disease. What do you think these are symptoms of? Hi. My name is Tony and i am 22 years old and live in Glasgow. Over 2 weeks ago now i was discharged from the local psychiatric hospital after a 6 day stay.The Consultant there wrote my diagnosis as recurrent depression or something like that.Before he wrote this diagnosis though, he thought i might have a less severe form of Bipolar or something along those lines. Before i went into hospital i was on Citalopram 20mg for about 8 months. This treatment has been continued so i still take one tablet of Citalopram in the morning. Anyway, for over a week now i have been having racing thoughts like music and scenes from movies and ideas going around my head a million miles an hour.My talking has been pressured and really fast and i can't help it.I have been feeling more energetic than usual and i haven't been needing much sleep.I had racing thoughts when i was in the hospital and the nurses gave me a valium or something which seemed to help.Anyway someone from the mental health team phoned me this morning and told me i should be expecting an appointment through the post from a psychiatrist quite soon. I am just going to wait to see the psychiatrist and tell him/her my symptoms. Anyway what do you think these are symptoms of?

Why did I dream about my long-passed away brother after all these years?
When I was nine, my brother passed away. He was a year and a half younger than me. He had been suffering for some time, after an accident where a nurse gave him the incorrect medication and he wasn't doing so well. I saw his suffering, and in some strange way, I was happy to see him pass because I knew he would be happier. At his funeral I didn't cry, I don't know why. My brother hasn't really been spoken about since. No one brings it up. Ever since he died strange things have happened. I've long since disregarded the odd things...like the fact that his bird died the day after he did, curled up in a sad looking ball. Pictures kept falling off of otherwise sturdy hooks, that sort of thing. I could be reading into it too much, but its one of those things that you have to feel to understand. I'm now a married woman with a child of my own. I haven't thought of him for ages. Last night I had a dream about him. In this dream, he was older though, he looked as though he had actually grown up and was a man, as if nothing had ever happened to him. He said that he never actually died and that hes been alive all along. He said that he is happy to have found me. I remember looking at him and seeing that he had the same green eyes that I do. Our family, in real life, has been torn apart in so many ways, via alcohol abuse from my sister, and physical abuse from my mother...but in this dream his presence felt healing. Like having him there meant that everything was okay and peaceful. In the dream we were simply sitting on a couch in my mother's old house, talking, I remember feeling so much love. I felt excited to have a brother and I just wanted to hug him. I don't know why I had this dream. For the most part, my feelings towards my brother have been distant, the time was so painful in my life that I just shoved it away. Does anyone have any honest interpretations as to why this dream has come now? I feel like I met the man that my brother would have been. Any and all insight is appreciated.

Short leg cast at school?
Recently at a handball game I tore the tendons in my ankle and got a leg cast up to my knee. It will be on for a month, and I'll have to go to school with it for two weeks. At my school people are really mean and make fun of other people. Although I'm the toughest girl in my year, I can't stand it when people make fun of me. I've got crutches, but the nurse told me that if I have someone who could help me walk, which I do, I wouldn't have to use the crutches. Quite frankly I wouldn't want to be seen dead using those things. Anyway, I want to hide the cast as much as I can. Our school uniform allows us to wear jeans, and mine are really long and baggy, which may be just enough to cover and hide the cast. Does anyone have any more suggestions? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Shouldn't the pro choice door swing both ways?
I was doing some reading the other night and found an article interesting. A 28 year old man chose to have a vasectomy done and he had no children and decided for himself he did not want children and at the time was not in a relationship with a woman. It took him a lot of searching to find a doctor willing to help him because many doctors in between have refused him because of his age, marital status or lack thereof. It got to the point he had to go outside the U.S. to Canada to do it. Since the vasectomy, many people have criticized and ostracized the man saying he is so selfish, or he robbed a lot of loving women who may want children or he'll regret it later, or hope he has good health insurance and a good nursing home when he is older, et cetera. My question is; if a woman has the right to choose whether or not she wants children or not, should that not apply to the men as well? I'm not saying women don't get criticism for their choices, I know it is far from it. From what I've read, this man and many others who made the same decision seem to get it worse. What do you think?
