Omeprazole decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Omeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. It is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid). Omeprazole may also be given together with antibiotics to treat gastric ulcer caused by infection with helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). Omeprazole may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide. Important information omeprazole Before using omeprazole, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have heart disease or liver disease. You may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take this medication. Omeprazole is not for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms. Some conditions are treated with a combination of omeprazole and antibiotics. To best treat your condition, use all of your medications as directed by your doctor. Be sure to read the medication guide or patient instructions provided with each of your medications. Do not change your doses or medication schedule without advice from your doctor. Take omeprazole for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better before the condition is completely treated. Prilosec OTC (over-the-counter) should be taken only once every 24 hours for 14 days. It may take up to 4 days for full effect. Do not take more than one tablet every 24 hours. Allow at least 4 months to pass before you start another 14-day treatment with Prilosec OTC. Call your doctor if you have additional symptoms and need treatment before the 4 months has passed. Heartburn is often confused with the first symptoms of a heart attack. Seek emergency medical attention if you have chest pain or heavy feeling, dizziness, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, sweating, nausea or vomiting, and a general ill feeling. a few nights ago i had this dream that i was in a public toilet and i had a pregnancy test in my hand that was positive then as i was walking around lots of tests kept popping up that were all positive, then last night i had a very similar dream where there were lots of positive pregnancy tests, what could this mean.

what should i do on my first break from my baby?
i have not been away fom my baby since conception. shes 11 1/2 months old. i am highly stressed out and not acting like myself andd im sick n tired of it!!! im demanding mommy time. i have to get away from her. obviously i love the crap out of her, but when you have a baby feeding off of you during pregnancy, basically attatched to your breast for months of its life, and consuming every second of your time and disturbing your sleep for who knows how long-- even supermom needs a break. im thinking about a good long nap. what do you think

can i have pethidine and an epidural?
my last labour i had epidural in labour but although i didnt feel myself tear i felt extremely painful contractions that were that bad i went into fits after he was out as my body couldnt cope.. i was very scared of birth my whole pregnancy and having experienced it its made me more scared, i read that pethidine can calm you down so that your not releasing as much of adrenaline caused by fear..... apperently the adrenaline makes the pain worse.. im confused why after epidural it was still unbearable i thought i was going to die.. as daft as it sounds... is pethidine better? or any othe advice or tips on how to reduce the risk of a bad painful labour experience?

i had my periods on 8th feb. but i did not get my periods yet?i did my home pregnancy test on march 9th.its negative. i did not plan for pregnancy. i was on very bad diet from last month. with only one glass of milk and meals at afternoon. i did not ate breakfast or dinner last month. i am afraid of growth of the baby because 1st month is crucial for baby's brain and heart. so i am in a doubt? is it good to have abortion?which is the safest method for abortion?surgical or medical abortion?

What is he going to do?
I'm 16 weeks and will be 17 weeks in 2 days. I have recently been going to a pregnancy clinic, and they have been taking care of me there. But, when i asked them when will I be able to choose my doctor, They said... You won't beable to do that, you'll have a different doctor everytime, you won't meet who delivers your child. So, I thought huh? ... i didn't like that.. And plus, i did not come out positive for genetic disorders, and they wanted to give me a Amniocentesis test, and i am not over the age of 35. I'm not even in my 30's yet. So, i decided to switch clinics. I am going to be 17 weeks and 3 days when i visit my new doctor. He is going to deliver the baby and such. I was wondering, what is he going to do during this 17th week app. Since its a start over.. will i get another pap smear or what? i would just like a list of what he'd do, and can we find out if its a boy or girl? :)

This is my third pregnancy?
I just found out i was pregnant, i am five weeks and one day along, and I'm afraid i'm going to miscarry again. Yesterday when i went to the bathroom and wiped there was some brown discharge, which of course made me freak out. I constantly kept on checking but it seemed to have stopped. This morning when i woke up there was more brown discharge but it seemed more pink... now i've had two miscarriages, both times i started bleeding without pain first (very much like this) and didn't start the miscarriage until maybe a week later. I'm freaking out, mostly because i truly believed that i could take this pregnancy full term. Any body have any advice or anybody that has gone through this....?

No heartbeat...still be a successful pregnancy?
Had transvaginal ultrasound done on Thursday march 4th..tec saw gastional sac,yolk sac, and fetal pole but no heartbeat..was told to wait and come back on the 23rd. I work at a hospital so I had an abdominal ultrasound done and found the same thing..sac measured 6 weeks 6 days..they didn't find a heartbeat but said it was too soon for an abdominal ultrasound to pick it up..my question is do I have any hope in being a viable pregnancy? Please comment and any advice would be great! Thanks!
